Supporting the Body on an Irregular Schedule
The postpartum period is one of profound transformation—physically, emotionally, and nutritionally. As a doula or baby specialist supporting the birth person and family, your hours don’t follow a 9–5 rhythm—and that can take a toll on your energy, digestion, and overall well being.
Irregular eating patterns, night shifts, and disrupted sleep can challenge your natural circadian rhythm, which plays a key role in everything from blood sugar balance to hormone regulation. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to support the healing body with food, replete nutrients depleted by pregnancy and birth, and build energy for the demands of new parenthood, as well as how to support YOU during long days and nights.

More than 80% of clients mention that they don’t want an epidural during labor. Many change their mind once they are experiencing contractions. As a doula it is our job to support our client no matter what kind of birth she has. How can we help them when there is an epidural in place?
