G. will take care of you in all aspects of your pregnancy, birth and postpartum period while listening for what you really want. Before birth, she’ll help you fine tune your birth preferences and prepare your support team for your ideal birth experience. During birth, if anything comes up that deviates from your desires, she is an expert at slowing down the situation, explaining your options, and helping you make powerful choices. No matter what you are dealing with, she’s in your corner.

G. is the protégé of the amazing Francie Webb of #GoMilkYourself fame; she trained through DTI (Doula Trainings International) as a full spectrum doula as well as a lactation professional through go-milkyourself.com. She provides birth and postpartum care, including lactation support. One of her specialties is overnight postpartum care, where parents can optimize on sleep and recovery and wake up to a prepared meal or baked treat of their choice.

G. lives in Washington Heights. With a background in teaching and life coaching, G. has a proven track record of helping people turn their intentions into their reality. She spent twelve years living abroad, most notably in the Netherlands where home birth is the norm – this has influenced her greatly as a doula. She also lived in Japan. G. graduated from Oberlin College and studied at the University of Córdoba in Spain and the University of Leiden Language Center in the Netherlands. She is Fluent in Dutch, speaks intermediate level Spanish, and conversational French and Japanese.

Along with being multilingual, G. has a special capacity to be with people from all backgrounds. She is culturally competent and supportive of LGBTQIA families as well as solo parents.

Testimonials

April 2023

I hesitated to hire a doula because of the expense, but as someone with chronic pain who’s spent their life gaslit by the medical community, I decided my peace of mind and the wellbeing of both my baby and myself were worth the added cost. Since it was my first pregnancy, I researched several doulas, and I’m glad I hired G. and K. as part of my support team. They provided a level of care that went above and beyond my expectations. They were empathetic, direct, and supportive throughout my pregnancy and postpartum journey. During labor and delivery, G. empowered me to gently push back when I didn’t feel heard in the hospital. She also ensured medical errors and complications were promptly addressed during my days-long labor process, and got me the added attention I needed from my medical team to birth a beautiful and healthy baby boy. But her help didn’t stop there—she remained just as responsive, helpful, and kind during my first weeks postpartum. Don’t delay booking their services. You’ll be glad you did. —K.
