My name is A. and I am a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula. I am currently exclusively working as a postpartum doula in New York.
I am a mother of a wonderful three-year-old girl who I love to pieces. My own birth experience and the great help I received from doulas when my baby was born, sent me on this path to become a doula myself.
I am an open, free- spirited and non- judgmental person, with the deep wish to provide the knowledge, preparation, and care to have a great postpartum experience. I offer support to all people and in all their birth, feeding and postpartum choices. I have experience in supporting families with multiples. Fun fact, as an identical twin myself, one of my first clients was a mother of twins.
I love supporting families in their postpartum journey and really following their lead on what they need from me. This may be assessing the latch of baby, integrating big brother/ sister into the new life with a newborn sibling, helping setting up the nursery, cleaning pumping parts and doing laundry or cooking a nutritious meal. Or all those things together and more.
In addition to birth and postpartum training, I recently completed my Certified Lactation Counselor training in January 2024. I am very passionate about helping families to feed their babies as they wish to, with all the support and advice they need to reach their feeding
goals whether this is breastfeeding or bottle feeding or both. I will listen and support you where help is needed.
As a postpartum doula I offer the following services:
• Discuss the birth experience, provide emotional support on all levels.
• Emotional and physical recovery from birth.
• Assist in breast feeding and / or bottle feeding/ pumping
• Provide guidance in newborn care.
• Provide advice on parenting techniques in the first weeks/ month’s post birth.
• Answer any questions or concerns.
• Provide referrals and other reliable resources for further postpartum care.
• Help with light household tasks.
• Help with meal prep and cooking for the family.
• Sibling care/Help integrating siblings into the new family setting.
• Work with the family to establish a routine and household set-up for everyone.
I am looking forward to supporting you and your family.

Testimonials
A. and S. were great, they worked out the schedule between them. We worked with A. more than S. because that’s how the scheduling worked out but having the two of them on our team provided a lot of comfort and security because we knew we would get the support we needed even if one was busy. We knew we only wanted postpartum support and wanted to focus on breastfeeding so the New York Baby team was a great fit for us.
The way we scheduled to space out the support has been helpful because each new week brings new challenges, but we would also encourage other new parents to book even more support in the first week, which was one of the hardest. We booked 3 visits the first week, then 2 visits a week for 3 weeks, then 1 visit a week for 4 weeks. A. helped us with breastfeeding, doctors appointments, tummy time, first bath, diapering techniques, managing diaper rash, and generally taking care of ourselves while managing a new baby. We’ve been so much more confident tackling new things with this support.
Our second week was also very hard because our baby needed to gain more weight and A. was amazing (and my dad stayed with us that week, which was essential.) My dad said that seeing A. help us was absolutely key for him, because it helped him see how to best help us.
We all learned so much from having the wonderful support and we highly recommend everyone should consider hiring a postpartum doula team from the New York Baby!

“ A. helped us to get more confident in feeding and getting our little one into a routine. Our new parent life became a little more normal and happy. She really helped us to get on our feet and any family is lucky to have her.”

“A. provided amazing post-partum doula support to us and our preemie twins. She was professional, knowledgeable, and a warm and supportive presence in our home. She cooked us delicious, healthy meals, helped with cleaning, and was just amazing with the babies. I don’t know how we would have survived the first 3 months without her.”
