Hi there! My name is R. and I’m a birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, and pre/postnatal fitness instructor. I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, but serve birthing folks all over New York City and its 5 boroughs. While I’ve been living in Brooklyn for five years now, I was born in New Hampshire and love spending my time outside, being active, and spending time with friends – All the better when all three happen at the same time!
My interest in birth work was born from a desire to advocate for women in spaces of great vulnerability, but it has been through my experience as a full-spectrum doula that I have learned about the power of building long-term relationships with clients, childbirth and postpartum education, and helping teach others to advocate for themselves. I have been trained as a doula from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, inclusive lens, and see supporting all bodies and all experiences as the core tenant of my work.
As a full-spectrum doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, and pre/postnatal fitness instructor, I have found each facet of my training to inform the other and love watching how they frequently coincide. I’d love to talk with you to see if we may be a good fit!
“I’m glad to say more if helpful but we couldn’t be happier with R. and the help she’s provided to us. Despite delivery going in an unplanned direction in the end, I 100% am glad R. was with us the whole way. She worked so hard alongside us and for us and we’re so grateful to her. I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you for connecting us with her!”
